Here's a photo summary of our holiday break! Eddie got almost as much time off from work as I did from school. I adored being able to spend so much time with him for the past few weeks. I'd forgotten that it wasn't the usual until today when he returned to work and was gone all day. I quite missed him.
For Christmas, we stayed in town with my family. Some of my extended family came to town and the house was pretty full of people, in a cozy sort of way. I enjoyed having a few days of the familiar, of family traditions and the like. We got up Christmas morning, opened gifts, and had a huge breakfast. Got some good family time in, had a tea party, played lots of games, and just enjoyed being at home together for a few days. Happy birthday, Jesus :) Thank you that my family is so close to us!
A few days after Christmas I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed which was a little more intense and unpleasant than I'd imagined it would be. Bleh. But I had my wonderful husband to take care of me and my parents brought me flowers! Gotta love that. Plus I got to eat ice cream and jello for like three days.
The day after I had my teeth pulled, Eddie and I headed down to Miami to spend time with his family for New Years. It was so much fun! The two of us hadn't stayed in Miami for more than a weekend since we started dating and we went for over a week this time. We slept in a lot and hung out with family and friends, went to the beach, and ate a lot of Cuban food. Mmm. I got to see more of Miami than I had in the past and got to practice my Spanish listening skills since his family speaks more Spanish than English. I left feeling much closer to my new Rodriguez family :) I love them and am quite blessed to have them all.
All in all, it was a great break. It was good for us to get out of Atlanta for a while. I came back feeling refreshed and ready to take on the semester and life in general. Starting some better habits that will help me stay more organized and less overwhelmed. Hooray for that!
xoxo Steph
