Last weekend, the Color Run came to Atlanta! Eddie and I ran it with his sister and her boyfriend and it was so much fun! I'd been wanting to do a 5k for a while and this one was too hard to pass up. It's a casual 5k, meaning that it's not timed and you can run/walk/skip/crawl through as fast or as slow as you want because the whole point is to have fun. I was so focused on the fun aspect, in fact, that I hardly trained at all. I don't recommend this. It was still really fun, though, and hopefully we'll get to do it again next year!
The premise of the Color Run is to start with a white shirt and then get to the finish line looking like a rainbow exploded all over you. Throughout the course, there are color stations where people throw colored powder at you as you run through. Then at the finish, they have a color toss every fifteen minutes or so to welcome the incoming runners. Everyone pulls out the color packet that came with their registration pack and, at the end of the countdown, tosses the color dust in the air! So much fun!
Here are some of my favorite photos from the day:
Off we go!
Proof that I actually ran.
...after the run...
...and after the color toss!
Afterwards, we went to Chick-fil-a for breakfast in all of our color glory. Not a bad way to spend a Saturday morning!
