El Jardín + New Habits

This morning, I spent a good chunk of time out on my porch in the morning sun. Birds chirping away, squirrels jumping from tree to tree, bees flitting about (and potentially building a nest in my storage closet)...I'll probably be spending more time out here than I will inside for the next few months. Everything is in bloom and the big pollen attack has (hopefully) passed. I spent over an hour rinsing a yellow layer of pollen off of the porch earlier this week and can finally sit out at my little table without becoming part of the cloud myself.
Eddie and I will be moving out of the apartment at the end of the summer, so I'm going to take advantage of having this space while I have it. We're not sure where we'll be moving yet and are praying for direction in that. I've loved our first apartment but I'm ready to move on to something else, to a new chapter more than a new space. I'm excited and hopeful for the move and all that will come with it!
This week, I'm working on smashing some bad habits and replacing them with good ones. Most of these have to do with being more intentional with my time. Sleep less, spend more time with Jesus. Less random online crap, more time running, gardening, learning new things, networking, reading, event planning, awareness raising...the list goes on and on. It's hard to be organized and productive if you throw hours upon hours away each week on pointless things. It's even harder to know which way the Wind is blowing if you're not knee deep in the Word.
I'm off to go running and to find something to fill these sad, empty pots with. Here's to new habits and intentional living!
